IN HARMONY Carnatic music lovers can look forward to a weekend treat by the Priya sisters
SS Cultural Academy, a division of DBJS Trust, has been organising concerts on second Sundays of every month "to provide a platform to budding artistes".
This week it will be a concert by Shanmukha Priya and Hari Priya, known as the Priya Sisters. Their performance is on November 12 at 6 p.m. The venue is the Indiranagar Sangeetha Sabha, Purandara Bhavan, 8th Main Road, Indiranagar. The concert is open to all. For details contact 25359328.
Haasya Mela
Antharanga, the theatre group, will present Haasya Mela-2006 on November 11, at 5.30 p.m. and November 12 at 10 a.m. at H.N. Kalakshetra, Jayanagar National College. The event is held in memory of late K. Hirannaiah, the comedian of professional theatre and T. Sunandamma, humorist who sprinkled her stories and short episodes with wit.
On November 12, the morning session would be steered by humorists Richard Louis, Prof. Krishnegowda, Dundiraj, G.H. Raghavendra with Y.V.Gundu Rao. The afternoon session has Asadullah Beg, Sudha Baragur, Snehalatha Dindur and Vatsala Mohan. The evening will commence with scenes from Devadasi by Babu Hirannaiah, followed by Bhaava Sangama at 5.30 p.m. by Hiremagalur Kannan, Gururaj Karjagi and Archana Udupa.
