`Swamy Ayyappan,' a new serial on the legend of Lord Ayyappan, will be telecast from November 20 on Asianet.
In addition to the myths and legends about the temple and the deity, the serial will also focus on the devotion of the thousands of pilgrims who visit the temple every year. Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Sukanya, Devan, Rajan P. Dev, Kaushik Babu and Aiswarya are some of the stars in the serial that is being shot at Merryland Studio.
Special programmes
In keeping with the spirit of Mandalam season when thousands of pilgrims visit Sabarimala, Asianet has come up with new programmes that capture the devotional fervour of the season.
A 10-minute daily bulletin called `Sabaritheertam,' to be telecast at 7.15, will include the timing of the daily poojas and news at Sabarimala. The two-minute `Sabarivazhi' will be telecast at 17.25. These programmes will be telecast daily from November 17 onwards. In addition to these programmes, there will be special episodes on Mandala pooja and Makaravillaku.
