DIFFERENT FACETS The Book featuring memorable events in the life of SPB being released

Sai Charan and Chaitra won awards at different singing contests.

This was the pair who came top in a programme titled Padaalani Vundi conducted in a television channel by S.P. Balasubrahmanyam.

Their talent was once again was on view, in a programme they gave at Ravindra Bharati, last week in the presence of Balu, lyric writer Dr. C. Narayana Reddy and others.

The programme was held under the auspices of `Madhuram', an association dedicated to music. The pair rendered solos as well as duets, together and individually.

The repertoire included well chosen melodies from films. One of them is a song Balu himself composed for the film Mayuri .

It was a dance number with pallavi Ee Padam. The other popular songs that figured included, Srirama Neenama from the recent film Ramadasu, Dr.C. Narayana Reddy's Snehamera Jeevitham, Dorakuna Ituvanti Seva from

the film Sankarabharanam. This musical programme was conducted by Ramachari who is a good singer and composer.

On this occasion a book written by Bhaskaruni Jagadeesh featuring some of the memorable events in the life of S.P. Balasubrahmanyam was released.

The title of the book is Bahumukha Pragnaa Saali- Baalu. The book was released by Dr.C. Narayana Reddy.

The book reflects the different facets of the playback singer's life.

Dr. Reddy spoke of Balu as a singer, composer, music studio owner, dubbing artiste and actor. Dr. Mrunalini, professor in Potti Sriramulu University briefed about the book.

Dr. C.S. Gopinatha Reddy DGP presided over the function.

It appears that Balu had gone through every page and corrected if necessary before it was printed, according to the writer.
