`Annavaram' has all the ingredients for a Pawan Kalyan film.

SENTIMENTAL STUFF Annavaram is native to the core.
A mass hero engulfed in sentimental stuff? Sounds queer, but then there's enough space for action, songs, romance, comedy and what one expects from a Pawan Kalyan film - entertainment. That's what R. B. Chowdary, the presenter of Mega Super Good Films's second venture, Annavaram, directed by Bhemaneni Srinivasa Rao has to say.
In the last lap of the film's shoot, a song on the hero along with a group of dancers was completed last Friday in sets created specially at the Ramoji Film City.
Popular Bollywood choreographer Ganesh Acharya was at the helm directing the star as Chandra Bose's lyric, Aakaasam Neeru Nippu Nela Ee Gaalee Naakosam, rendered by Tippu and tuned by Ramana Gogula is been played on the nagara tape.
As the postproduction work is also taking place simultaneously, director Bheemaneni is busy back at the recording theatre, supervising the background score and dubbing work.
Like his eldest brother, Pawan Kalyan is at ease with twirls, and swirls with grace and poise. That made the Mumbai choreographer and cinematographer Sethu Sriram's work much easier. There is more of a nativity in the steps composed.
"The subject is as such," informs the presenter. "Native to the core, the story starts in a village and moves to the city. More than the technique, it is the subject that takes the front seat. A decade ago, we made Suswagatham, with Pawan Kalyan and Bheemaneni Srinivasa Rao, which went on to become a big hit. Since then, Kalyan has grown in stature as an actor. This film will live up to his present image. It is turning out to be one of the memorable films in his career. Though we are remaking the Tamil hit, Thiruppachi, we improvised the script to give it a fresh feel. Bheemaneni narrative style is bound to take him to the top wrung. Asin has a glamour-oriented role, while Sandhya has come up with a credible performance as the hero's sister. Nagababu plays a police officer. Every character has its importance," says Chowdary.
The protagonist, a village youth, jubilant and hardworking played by Pawan Kalyan has one goal and that is to see his sister happily married to a city-bred man. But once he enters the city, life takes an unexpected turn. That sets the tone for a fast-paced action entertainer.
Annavaram is also said to be the costliest Telugu film from R.B. Chowdary. "Logistics apart, it has all the elements in true Pawan Kalyan style. The differential class and mass appeal does not apply to his films. They have universal appeal."
The cast include Malayalam actor-director Lal, Ashish Vidyarathi, Siva Balaji, Brahmaji, Brahmanandam, Sakunthala, Kalpana, Hema and Bhargavi.
Producers N.V. Prasad and Paras Jain plan to have the audiocassette launch on Dec ember 14 and the film is set to hit the screen on Dec ember 29.
