A new London venue for Indian art.

Indian art is definitely going global. There are many Indians contributing for the promotion of Indian art abroad.
The Old World Hospitality, which runs the popular restaurant Chor Bizarre in Central London's Albemarle Street, has recently converted one of its floors into an art gallery to promote Indian art. It was inaugurated with a painting exhibition of 12 famous contemporary artists including Jogen Choudhury, Paresh Maity, Satish Gupta among others. The exhibition was the result of an art camp called Sitary organised by the curator and art historian Sushma Bahl.
After a positive response to the opening show, the Chor Bizarre art gallery had two more shows in quick succession.
While the second show had Naina Kanodia's works, the third one featured Seema Kohli's paintings.
Says Sushma Bahl, who is now an art consultant for Chor Bizzare, "So far Indian art appreciators and buyers are only NRIs. So, to expose the general viewers outside India to Indian art, , a gallery was needed.
Moreover, Albemarle Street is full of art galleries and so the footfall is great. Also, those who come to the restaurant also walk in to the gallery. "
