The vocal recital by children showed real talent.

A number of students of Kalabharathi School of Music gave a vocal recital on Monday.
Their teachers G. Sarada Subrahmanyam and S. Vani Swayamprabha Devi conducted the recitals. The programme got off to a reasonably good start with the rendering of Mohana Varnam, Parakela Saraswathi (Natakuranji), Govardhanagireesam (Hindila) and a Thillana in Kanada by the senior group of eight. Then the sub-junior group of pupils in the age group of five and nine rendered O Rama (Aarabhi) and Charanamulenammithi (Kapi). Sarasarasamaraika (Kuntalavarali), Dayamado (Brindavanasaranga) rendered by the group of juniors, Sarade (Dvagandhari), Guruleka (Gourimanohari) and Chootamurare (Aarabhi) rendered by another group of seniors and finally Sri Mahaganapathi (Goula), Ramaaramana (Sankarabharanam) adorned with aalapana by K. Rohini and C. Sarada in turns and concluded with swaram by all six participants alternately, stood out.
Mangalampalli Annapurna on violin and M. Sridhar on mridangam rendered good support.

he week also witnessed an enjoyable concert of Lata Mangeshkar's hit songs from old Hindi feature films. Rendering select songs from Nagin, Mahal, Albela, Mughal-e-Azamso on and so forth melodiously, Dr. Mukunda Kumari regaled the audience.
She was accompanied on keyboard by Varam and Gowripathi, flute by Dharmagnani, tabla by Babu Rao and on electronic pads by Swaroop while Ramu conducted the orchestra.
