Unique match

India's legacy of the Raj still seems to appeal to the western mindset. So chasing this distinctiveness comes CNN to Jaipur this weekend featuring a unique polo match where contestants play the game by riding on elephants. To be hosted by Monita Rajpal on the channel's "Art of Life" show, this coverage of Cartier Elephant Polo Cup is a Christmas weekend special for Indian viewers.

The favourites

The Savlon Sabsey Favourite Kaun International 2006, the opinion poll on Star Gold for Bollywood fans, has chosen Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji as the Sabsey Favourite hero and heroine of Hindi .lmdom. On the expected lines is also Priyanka Chopra, voted as Sabsey Tez Sitara.

Announced at a glittering function hosted by Ayesha Takia and Ranvir Shorey in Mumbai this past week, the poll also chose Paresh Rawal as the favourite comic hero, Kunal Khemu and Soha Ali Khan as favourite new hero and heroine.

The Star Gold viewers will get to see the recorded version of the Grand Finale on December 30 at 8 p.m.

Change of fame

Shilpa Saklani of Ganga fame in "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" has just replaced Sophie Chowdry in the SAB TV reality hunt show "Fame X" as the `Fame Kudi' after the producers had a showdown with Sophie. Vikas Bahl, the channel's Business Head, says, "Sophie has been replaced with Shilpa because we felt she was not connecting with the viewers and the contestants."
