Special New Year line-up



AMRITA GOLDEN MOMENTS 2007 on Amrita TV, Sunday, 21.00

Television channels are gearing up for New Year with a bouquet of programmes on December 31 and January 1. Interviews, chat shows, music-based shows and comedy skits are the main attraction on many of the channels.

Asianet

`Quotation' and `Youth Festival' will be premiered on the small screen on December 31 and January 1 on Asianet. The channel also has interviews with Cheran and Gopika. A music show will feature M.G. Sreekumar, M. Jayachandran, Alex Paul, Afsal and Renjini Jose among many others. Remya Nambisan, Meera Krishna, Arvind and Manikuttan plan to dazzle viewers with their nimble footwork in a dance show. Adding a dose of humour will be Kalabhavan Mani, Pradip, Kottayam Nazir and Jagadish Prasad. `2006 inte Nashtangal, 2007ele Prateekshagal' is a programme that takes stock of the year that was. If you are an addict of serials, tune in to watch a programme that takes you on a trip to the locations where many of the serials are shot. In addition to a special Cinemala and live telecast of film-based shows, live morning shows will be telecast from Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode.

Asianet Plus

A bonanza of music and film-based programmes await viewers of Asianet Plus too. Programmes presented by winners of the music and VJ talent hunts is another attraction on the channel.

Round-ups of the major events in the world of politics and culture (`India Round-up 2006,' `Kerala Round-up 2006') and sports (`Sportsweek') will be telecast on Asianet News. The best of the news feature `Kannadi' will be included in `Kannadi 2006.' In addition, the channel will present compilations of the major events in 2006.

Surya TV

Surya TV's cornucopia of programmes on January 1 includes interviews with actor Rahman (9.00) and Vikram (13.00) in addition to the films `Naaturaja' (9.30) and `Alice in Wonderland' (13.45). Meet the stars and crew of `Notebook' in a special programme (12.30). Jayasurya, Naren, Manikuttan and Sooraj participate in a programme at 17.30.

Amrita TV

Amrita TV ushers in 2007 with a host of programmes. Catch a star-studded evening on December 31 as playback singer Karthik entertains viewers along with the Amrita TV Super Star troupe comprising Sangeeth, Job, Ajay, Mithu, Sarath, B. Lakshmi, Athira and V.R Lakshmi on `Amrita Golden Moments 2007' at 21.00. Packed with a variety of programmes, the `New Year Live show' will feature Chendamelam, choreographed dance and a magic show. The show ends with a scintillating fireworks display when the clock strikes 12. Viewers across the world will be able to sms New Year Greetings during this live telecast. `Madhuchandralekha' will be the in-house movie for the New Year.
