Action at the thespian's house

S.R.ASHOK KUMAR

Sivaji Ganesan's house has been used as a backdrop for some scenes of `Delhii Heights,' Hindi film.

HOME PRODUCTION: Enacting a scene for Delhii Heights.

The shooting was in Sivaji Ganesan's house in T.Nagar, where no shooting has taken place ever since the legend passed away. In fact even for their own production, the house was rarely used as the backdrop. So when one heard about the shooting, one wanted to know the film.

It is Sivaji production's `Delhii Heights,' a Hindi movie. It stars Jimmy Shergill, Neha Dhupia, Om Puri, Rohit Roy, Simone, Vivek Shauq, Kamini Khanna and Madhavan (in a cameo). The scriptwriter and director Anand Kumar and thewhole unit had come down from Mumbai for half a day's shooting.

Cameraman Aatish Parmer checked the lights, while the director was working out a scene with Madhavan. After the shot, Madhavan said, "For any actor this house is like a temple... Anyone connected with films is bound to be his (Sivaji's) fan [as I am]. When Ramkumar [the thespian's son], wanted me to do a small... [part] in their Hindi production I was happy to [do] it... ." Anand Kumar said, "If I wanted I would have asked Madhavan to come to Mumbai... [for the shooting]. But I wanted to [do the shooting] here [to] make it an everlasting experience for all of us... "

Neha Dhupia said, "I am happy to be working for Sivaji Production as it is an institution by itself. It is a learning experience... I am enjoying every moment [of it]... "

Actor Prabhu is the producer. Prabhu, Ramkumar's brother, said that after a long time they are making a Hindi film. "The film is over and is expected to released soon."

Anand Kumar said that `Delhii Heights' is about a married couple and the friction in the family.

Rabbi Sherghill writes the lyrics and scores the music. Sreekar Prasad does the editing.
