Sidhardha awards presented

The Annual awards for eminent persons in the field of Arts instituted by the Sidhardha Kala Peetham of Vijayawada were presented to Kuchipudi exponent Vedantham Satyanarayana Sarma and veteran story writer Kalipatnam Ramarao.

Kala Peetham secretary Nagella Guruprasada Rao introduced the awardees and P.L.N. Prasad, president, honoured them on behalf of the Kalapeetham.

Eminent journalist and former editor of Visalandhra C. Raghavachari spoke praising the contribution of the awardees to the fields of their respective branches.

The colorful award function was followed by a delightful Kuchipudi dance drama Usha Parinayam presented by the disciples of Vedantham Satyanarayana Sarma.

M. Komala Babu gave an excellent performance in the role of Usha.

Other dancers who played their roles admirably were Y. Srinivas (Anirudha), V. Satyam (Chitralekha), Ch.Murali and T. Venkateswarlu (Usha's chelis).
