Maturity of the seasoned ISAI MAZHALAI Both these young artistes impressed with their talent and determination. Alapana spells class Rupa Mahadevan's seriousness showed in the way she tackled the raga, niraval and swara. Nagaswaram redefined It was music subtle and moving that Injikkudi Subramaniam offered. Musical values take precedence The performance of Lavanya and Subbulakshmi spoke volumes of their passion and untiring effort. Competent handling of ragas Confident, Calcutta Srividya should pay attention to diction. Full-steam articulation Elegance and felicitous flow were the highlights of Vasundhara Rajagopal's recital. Enjoyable, scholarly programme Vedavalli's swaraprastaras were flawless with a lively laminated sheen.
Rare details brought to lightLEC-DEM Papers presented at the Music Academy expounded the greatness of composers such as Kshetragna, Meesu Krishna Iyer, Papanasam Sivan and Neelakanta Sivan. Full play of vocal exuberance T.M.Krishna's style and temperament were shaped by robust, forceful endurance.
Playing to the gallery Priyadarsini's accent was on nritta and Neena Prasad's Mohiniyattom was all grace and geometry.
