`Jodha-Akbar' in October

Ashutosh Gowarikar's team is swiftly completing the shooting of Jodha-Akbar and plans to release the film on October 12. The film-maker wants the Hrithik-Ash starrer to release in festive season and refutes claims that the film is a rehash of Mughal-e-Azam. The film will take the audience back to the Mughal era, will have a generous dose of sword fighting and horse riding, and is being produced at a budget of Rs. 37 crore.

Unusual love stories

The first film in this category coming up is Ram Gopal Varma's Nishabd. Both Varma and Bachchan have denied that the story is based on Lolita and we have no way to know but wait for the film to release. Bachchan, on his part, will star in yet another atypical love story with Tabu in Cheeni Kum. The light-hearted story will show Bachchan as a 60- year-old romancing Tabu, who frequents his restaurant. Cheeni Kum features Paresh Rawal as Tabu's father.

Horse trouble for `Drona'

The Abhishek Bachchan starrer Drona has run into rough weather, all because of horses. The film is being shot in Bikaner, Rajasthan, and directed by Goldie Behl who earlier worked with Abhishek in Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai. The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) has raised objections citing the use of horses without permission; the death of a horse on the sets has added to the furore.

Karan-Kareena back together

Remember the cold war between Kareena Kapoor and Karan Johar when the former turned down the offer to act in Kal Ho Naa Ho? The two seem to have buried the hatchet now and have come together for a paint commercial. The ad features Kareena, is directed by Karan and is being produced by Shah Rukh Khan's company. Karan's production house is also busy with plans of an animation film based on Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
