Tyagaraja aradhana

The recent Tyagaraja aradhana celebrations organised at the BHEL Township Hall, Ranipet, was attended by a number of devotees, thanks to the total and dedicated involvement of Baskar, secretary, Ranipet Telugu Kala Samithi.

The portrait of Tyagaraja was decorated on the dais and a puja performed by Vedic pundit.

The programme started with an invocation, `Sri Ganapathim' in raga Sowrashtra followed by `Gurukula Etuvanti' in Gowri Manohari.

Musicians including Usha Sekar, Sunitha Ravichandran, Rama Narayanan, Meena Kumar, Uma Ganesh and S. Govindarajan (grandson of late Kaveripakkam Veeraraghavachariar) along with younger musicians rendered the Pancharatna kritis.

The artistes were accompanied by Kesavulu from Tirupati on the violin and Murali from Chennai on the mridangam.

This was followed by individual and group rendering of kritis by children.
