Award
D.V.K.Vasudevan, popularly known as Violin Vasu in the city, has been selected for Madras Music Academy's prestigious Samaikya Bharat Gaurav Satkar. The Academy awards the Samaikya Bharat Gaurav Satkar every year to 50 eminent people in different fields from the country. He is well known for Devandrone, the Indian classical fusion music troupe with his friend Flute Phani (Dronendra Phanikumar). He is also working on different projects such as Applied Music Therapy, Sabarmathi Sangeeth, Gurukulams, Evening Raga and so on.
A recipient of the President's Award, International Award for Young People-Buckingham Palace, London, Young Achievers Award, Adamya Puraskar, Youth Award, and more receives this award for his services in the field of Carnatic music (violin). The award ceremony is slated for April 29 at Madras Music Academy Auditorium, Chennai.
