Kumbhabishekam
The kumbhabishekam of Periyanayaki Udanurai Soundareswara Swami Temple, in Nannilam Taluk, Nagapattinam District, will be performed on April 5, between 8.30 and 10 a.m.
The rituals preceding the event will begin on April 2, 9 a.m. Thirupanaiyur is situated on the Mayiladuthurai - Tiruvarur bus route. Contributions are solicited. Samprokshanam
The 200-year old Sri Yoga Narasimhar Temple at Keelamanali village, 10 km east of Tiruvarur, on the Tiruvarur - Thiruthuraipoondi bus route has been renovated.
Construction of compound wall and painting remain to be done, the estimated cost for which is Rs.2 lakh. The Maha Samprokashanam of the temple will take place on April 1, between 8.30 and 10 a.m.
The religious events begin on March 29, 6 a.m. The Thiruppani Committee appeals to devotees to donate for the endeavour.

Achievers honoured
Amudha Surabi Kalai Mandram, Madurai, (Ph: 0452-2330753), honoured director Lingusamy and actors Bharath, Ramesh Kanna, Sandhya and Keerthi Chawla with awards and symbolic swords (`Veera Vaal'). Bharath was presented with the title `Chinna Thalapathi' and Ramesh Kanna with `Nagaichuvai Sigaram.'
Also 12 doctors and eight firms were presented with Amudha Surabi Awards.
