Women's Day celebrated

Deena Bandhu Ashram, Walajapet, celebrated International Women's Day recently.

The students of Gandhi Mission Vidyalaya Middle School presented cultural programmes which were realistic and appreciated for their novelty. Girls, dressed up as Kalpana Chawla, Sania Mirza, Mumtaz Begum, Mother Teresa, Kiran Bedi, Indira Gandhi, Muthulakshmi Reddy and Razia Sultan, received a standing ovation.

A programme, `M.S.Subbulakshmi-T.Sadasivam Isai Arangu' was organised at the ashram campus.

This was followed by `Vande Mataram' dance and a folk presentation by the school girls.

There was also an acrobatic show by Anitha.

C.Banumathi, co-ordinator of women in public sector, BHEL, Ranipet, was the chief guest. Kamini Devi, Senior Lecturer of DIET (Ditrict Institute of Education and Training), Ranipet was the guest of honour.
