Two on-going exhibitions draw from the country's rich craft skills, weaves and designs to present an array of eye-catching couture.

While The Silk Route exhibition (10 B, 14th Avenue, Harrington Road) is marked by style and funky charm, the Designer Collection (Vimonisha Exhibition Centre, 12, Khader Nawaz Road) offers an eclectic range of cotton, silk and tussar.

The Silk Route offers heavily discounted rates and is a great place for buying gifts.

Vegetable colours

The Designer Collection celebrates hand printed and painted kalamkari in vegetable colours. It has patachitra done on saris, dupattas and blouses. It has vibrant tribal motifs on saris and fabrics too.

The Designer Collection exhibition ends on March 24 and The Silk Route on March 31.
