Will she, won't she?
Ash will continue to be in the news for her films and otherwise. First came the report that the Prime Minister's wife Gursharan Kaur watched her latest film Provoked and was touched by the sensitive film and Ash's performance. And now that Ash and Abhishek are planning to wed in April, the film industry is speculating if she will continue to act post marriage. Aishwarya is completing her work for Ashutosh Gowarikar's Jodha Akbar and has consented to act in Shridhar Raghavan's Happy Birthday starring John Abraham.

Depp and Bachchan
Mira Nair is one happy film-maker. The Namesake has secured its place in the US top 20 and has opened to good reviews in India as well. Mira, though, is moving on to her next film, Shantaram, which will bring Johnny Depp and Amitabh Bachchan together for the first time. Even before agreeing to work in Shantaram, Depp had watched The Namesake at a private screening and was moved by the emotional film!

Deepti's film on Amrita Pritam
Actress Deepti Naval has dabbled with direction, scripts, painting, poetry and photography. The multi-faceted actress is planning a film on the life of the Punjabi writer Amrita Pritam. Deepti is scouting locales in Himachal Pradesh to shoot her film, which will show the early life of Amrita and the two men in her life _ lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi and Imroz. Deepti isn't revealing if she too would feature in the film.

Revisiting `Chashme Buddoor'
Director Onir ( Bas Ek Pal and My Brother Nikhil) has been signed up by Studio 18 for the remake of Sai Paranjpe's Chashme Buddoor, which released in 1981. Studio 18 has bought the rights from the original producers and the team is on the lookout for actors who can step into the shoes of Farooq Shaikh, Deepti Naval and Rakesh Bedi. Onir wants to make the film to suit today's sensibilities and is reluctant to divulge the actors he has in mind for the film. But that reminds us: what's up with his plans to make an adaptation of Hamlet with Hrithik Roshan?
