Golden chariot
The Subramaniaswamy Temple at Tirupparankundram near Madurai, one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga, will have a golden chariot soon.
The temple administration plans to make the 11-foot-high chariot ready with donations from devotees.
According to C. Perumalswamy, Deputy Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, the chariot will be made with 10 kg of gold and 158 kg silver.
The total cost of the project is estimated at Rs 1.5 crore.
Donations for the chariot can be sent to the Executive Officer, Sri Subramaniaswamy Temple, Tirupparankundram, Madurai, Pin - 625 005.
