A family entertainer

M. L. NARASIMHAM

`Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule' focuses on women's sensibility.

A SPLASH OF COLOURS Trisha and Venkatesh reflect the lives of young professionals in the film.

Producers N.V. Prasad and Sanam Naga Ashok Kumar invite us to the editing room at Ramanaidu Studios where the final cut for Sri Saideva Productions, Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule is being done. Director Sri Raghava is sitting with editor Kola Bhaskar watching the monitor. The scene shows a software company office. We could spot hero Venkatesh, heroine Trisha, Jeeva and Raja Sridhar along with a few fellow engineers engrossed in some discussion. The shot was taken at a specially created set at the studio earlier and the negative was transferred to tele-cine mode to feed into the system for editing. Once the editing is done it will be sent for dubbing, posting sound and other effects before sending it to the lab for prints.

"The hero and heroine are software engineers. They get an opportunity to go abroad for a project. In this scene they discuss whom to include in the team," informs Naga Ashok. "It is a light hearted film for the entire family. We borrowed the title from a popular song. It also suits the script. The theme is not exactly feminist. But it lays emphasis on the point that one should not take a woman's silence for granted. The phrase mounam angeekaram doesn't hold good here. One should understand a woman and respect her feelings. Then there will be total bliss in the relationship and in the family. This message is placed as an inner layer to this mega entertainment," smiles the producer.

The unit had earlier made the runaway hit, Vasantham with Venkatesh. "He is a dedicated actor. During the shoot of his other movie, he sprained his leg and the doctor advised him rest. But within a few days, he got back to the sets and didn't show a sign of the pain."

"Yuvan Shankar Raja's music is a high point. The audio is in the top of the charts. I must mention here that Sitarama Sastry who wrote two lyrics told that one again after a long time he derived job satisfaction. His has penned lyrics allantha doorana aa tharaka and manasamanninchamma. Other songs by Kulasekhar, Chandra Bose and Kandikonda are also well received. We shot them in Dubai, RFC and in a train in Araku. The lead pair appear in one costume through out a song. Sri Raghava believes in a natural flow of the scene and that every scene should look realistic."

K. Viswanath plays Trisha's grandfather and Kota Srinivasa Rao appears as Venkatesh's father. "Viswanath is a director's actor. Though he is a veteran director, he simply followed what the director told him." Sri Raghava and Bhaskar are engaged in a discussion about retaining a particular block from another sequence. The film has some action blocks too composed by Vijay. "Right from the script stage to the final cut, Sri Raghava takes minute care about his product," says Naga Ashok Kumar who is planning to release the film in the last week of April. Sunil, Prasad Babu, Suman Shetty, Anath, G.V. Melkote, Sankarabharanam Rajyalakshmi and Vinaya Prasad are in the cast.
