Entertaining folk melodies

The All-India Industrial and Agricultural Exhibition taking place at the Swaraj Maidan, Vijayawada, is also a venue for a large number of cultural programmes on Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Kala Vedika specially erected for the purpose.

One of the programmes that impressed was the variety fare featured last week. The programme organised by the convener of the exhibition society Y. Veeraiah, featured folk and patriotic songs rendered by the troupe led by Damodaram Ganapathi Rao. Some of the pleasing patriotic songs that described the valour shown by the Indian Jawans who fought in the Kargil battlefield. The folk songs were followed by a thrilling magic show by Parasuram's party.
