A wholesome package

M. L. NARASIMHAM

On the sets of `Dubai Seenu' an action sequence unveils.

DANCE `N' ACTION Raviteja and Nayanatara.

"On the Vijayawada highway on your right is the Ramoji Film City and if you turn to the left you reach Mount Opera. A few meters from Opera you find the speciallycreated set." On his mobile, Srinu Vytla tells the location where he is shooting a key portion for Universal Media's Dubai Seenu starring Raviteja and Nayanatara in the lead. At the location, the presence of fight masters Ram-Laxman gives away that the director is filming an action sequence.Raviteja, Sayaji Shinde, Sushanth Singh, who makes his debut as a villain and shot to fame with Ram Gopal Varma's Jungle, leading lady Nayanatara and a few stunt actors are spotted at the shooting venue. A wordy dual between the hero and the villains ensues and cinematographer Prasad Murella captures the emotions in a super 35mm format. The director monitors the scene and the expressions, once he Okays the shot, Ram-Laxman takesover to supervise. The fight masters, or for that matter choreographers, compose movements to suit the body language of the hero or the heroine. Since Raviteja is highly energetic, the action sequenceis composed of swift movements by the duo. "It is part of the climax scene. We are introducing a new villain, Sushanth Singh from Mumbai. In fact, when we were on the hunt for a new face for the role, Ramu suggested his `Jungle' boy to us," says the director. Is it some kind of an underworld story as it travels from Dubai to Mumbai before reaching Hyderabad? What was the protagonist doing in Dubai? These questions cross our mind as we watch Raviteja on the sets. "It is an entertainer with commercial values," is Srinu's cryptic answer followed by a grin. All he would like to share is that thisis his second film with Raviteja. Their earlier work, Venky was a hit and he is confident that they will surpass its success. "The character Srinu suits Ravi's body language to the tee. His performance stands out in the film and Nayanatara is an apt choice. It is a wholesome package of entertainment with good performances, stunning visuals, catchy music (Manisharma) and thrills. We shot a couple of songs in Dubai and Austria and the rest onthe sets here." Srinu Vytla is presently basking in the success of his recent release Dhee, an action based comedy. "I have seen Vishnu's acting in a similarly titled film. Apart from a romantic action hero image, I found he is good at generating humour too. Srihari is an old hat at playing any genre. The combination worked wonders. Dubai Seenu is yet another entertainer with a totally new screenplay,"says D.V.V Danayya, the producer takes over from him. "We are aware we are making this film in the wake of the sensational success of our previous venture Desamuduru. Budget should not be a constraint while making a lavish production with high commercial values. We are not compromising on quality. We hope we will reach the expectations of one and all. With a couple of days work, the shootingcomes to a close. Post-production work is going on simultaneously. We plan to reach out to the audience in a few weeks from now."

Ram and Laxman, the twin stunt directors give a little rest to the hero as they shoot some close upshots of Sushanth and Sayaji and the villain's gangas if it is menacingly approaching the target. "I am sure it is going to add to the list of hits to my career. My role will also be long remembered for its sheer entertainment value," said Raviteja as he moves to take his position before the camera.
