Centenary celebrations
Puneet, the young and popular hero of the Kannada film industry, has been delivering hits in a row. “Arrasu” is the latest addition to his list of successes. “Arrasu” has completed 100 days in some centres in the state and this achievement comes in the wake of many big films falling flat in competition with the likes of “Mungaaru Maley” and “Duniya” that are rewriting box-office history in the Kannada film industry. Veteran actor Vishnuvardhan was the chief guest of this colourful function which was also attended by B. Saroja Devi.
Vishnuvardhan went on a nostalgic trip and remembered the many facets of Raj Kumar’s life. “He was like sugar and we had an opportunity to savour it. He was an encyclopaedia in acting, singing, yoga and also in literature,” he said. Of the two heroines of the film, only Ramya was present, while Meera Jasmine, who has delivered a very good performance in the film, was absent.
