Hawke’s Day

Continuing with the series of intimate interviews with actors, this Sunday Pix features Ethan Hawke in a tete-a -ete with James Lipton on “Inside the Actors Studio”. Erstwhile husband of Uma Thurman, Ethan has appeared in projects like “A Midnight Clear”, “Alive”, “Reality Bites”, “Before Sunrise” “The Newton Boys”, “Great Expectations” amongst others. In 2001, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in “Training Day”.

Also an author, he published his first novel “The Hottest State” in 1996.

To consolidate its afternoon band Zee TV has come up with a new show “Meri Doli Tere Angana”. As is the trend, this is the story of a simple girl Simran’s tryst with her destiny. An orphan, Simran goes according to the wishes of her uncle and aunt and settles for an arranged marriage but on the day of marriage her husband reveals that he was in love with someone else.

Priyamvada S plays the lead while Gaurav Channa, Pankaj Berry and Madhvi Gokhte provide the support.


Star Awards

It was a generation shift at this year’s Star Parivar Awards. Smriti Irani who has been bagging the best bahu award over all these years for Kyunki Saas Bhi Bahu Thi, this year walked away with the best saas award.

Smriti who once declared she will no longer accept any award for the show said that Sudha Shivpuri (the original Ba) advised her not to show back to appreciation
