Vintage charm

Shiney Ahuja and Soha Ali Khan are upbeat about their film Khoya Khoya Chand directed by Sudhir Mishra. It’s not just the film and their respective characters that they are excited about, but also the perks that come with it: like driving a vintage car to the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards night in Yorkshire!

The film, produced by Prakash Jha, will premiere at the festival. Shiney got to drive some of the best models of vintage cars - Buick, Chevrolet, Fiat, Impala and a Volkswagon – in the film. Shiney and Soha, dressed in their ethnic best, plan to arrive for the premiere in a 1960 vintage beauty.

All for kids

Suddenly, there are more Indian films for children, or at least partially targeting children. After Tara Rum Pum, it’s got to be Rahul Bose’s Chain Khuli Ki Main Khuli, slated to release in June. Soon, promotional video will be out featuring Rahul Bose, child artist Zain Khan, singer Kunal Ganjawala and the composer duo Salim and Sulaiman. If Tara Rum Pum released merchandise to catch the attention of children, here’s a new pr omotional video.

Kumar Gaurav teams up with Bhairavi

He was one among the Kaante gang and now he’s part of a silent film called My Daddy Strongest. He’s reportedly playing the role of a scientist and has Bhairavi Goswami, now known for her singer role in Bheja Fry, for company. The film is directed by Rahul Kapoor and said to be a comeback film for Gaurav, whose biggest hit till date remains the 80s film Love Story.

A li’l bit of sugar

Talking of merchandising, there’s something ‘sweet’ being planned for Cheeni Kum too. HotMuggs has manufactured and designed merchandise for this sugar free love story and plans to woo buyers at cinema halls, malls , concept stores and bookstores across India.

Theme based mugs, toss coins, a kit that let’s you write your own story of the film and limited edition mugs autographed by Tabu and Amitabh Bachchan are some things you will find.
