Audio visual treat
Giri Trading Agency (GITA Cassettes) has brought out the recorded live concerts of Charulatha Mani in the form of DVDs, VCDs and audio CDs titled ‘Isai Payanam’ Vol. 1 & 2.
It was released at a function held on May 26 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
L. Sabaretanam, Director, Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd, released the first copies which were received by Cleveland V.V.Sundaram, music patron.
While Vol. 1 features ragas Hamsadhwani, Hindolam, Vasantha and Shanmukhapriya, Vol. 2 features ragas Nattai, Anandabhairavi and Kalyani.
The DVDs give insight into various ragas, their classical flavours, the kritis, film songs based on the raga etc.
Charulatha Mani also presents the raga in a concert format, thus taking the listener on an entire musical journey.
The concerts, aimed at taking carnatic music to the masses, have attracted huge audiences over the past few months.
The release function also featured the concert of Charulatha Mani who rendered ragas like Ritigowla, Pantuvarali and Mohanam.
The releases are available at all Giri Trading outlets and other music stores.
