For world peace
The year-long ‘Nithya Mangala Chandi Mahayagnam’ that commenced this past year at Sri Bhuvaneswari Avadhutha Vidhya Peetam in Pudukottai, concluded on May 27. The special ‘Dasa Laksha Sahasranama homam’ that generally follows
the yagnam concludes on June 1.
The mahayagnam had been organised to promote world peace and universal prosperity.
It also marked the centenary of the mahasamadhi of Sri Judge Swamigal and the 50th anniversary of Sri Santhananda Brahmmendra Saraswathi Avadhutha’s codification of mahayagnams at the temple.
For the occasion
The Peetam is also known as Sri Judge Swamigal Adhistanam. Later his disciple, Santhananda Swamigal, who attained ‘siddhi’ in May 2003, took up the mission of spreading Judge Swamigal’s philosophy among the masses.
Special week-long programmes, which included a seminar on the life of Santhananda Swamigal, discourses and concerts by eminent artistes such as Kunnakudi R. Vaidyanathan, had been organised for the occasion.
Accompanied by 100 thavil artistes, thavil maestro A. R. Subramaniam will offer ‘laya’ homage on June 1(today).
