A rather handy little tool
First Copy Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh releasing Rubeena directory in Mumbai.
Hindi film world is a big mess. Hardly anybody knows who is coming, who is going. Stars are seldom in town yet it is called the dream industry.
Make-up men, costume designers and technicians usually stay away from the limelight as heroes and heroines grab all the attention. Well, all that might just be a thing of the past.
An attempt has been made to give the much-maligned Bollywood a semblance of order with Rubeena directory brought out by S.A. Zaheer, who is the book’s editor and publisher.
Many pictures
Containing many beautiful pictures of leading lights like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle and Bappi Lahiri, this nearly 500-page hard-bound edition has more value than its price.
Incidentally, it comes for Rs.400. Replete with information about fashion, music, films and television, this book, however, needs a bit of updating as not all the information presented is the latest.
Ignore that and it is a handy little tool.
