Singer honoured

A function was organised by the Veluvolu Trust, established by V. Basavapunnayaa, to honour Gara Aruna who completed 50 years in the field of light music, at Kalabharati last Sunday.

Aruna was felicitated by Saduguru Sriman K. Sivananda Murty of Anandaashram, Bhimili, former MP, noted industrialist and president of GITAM Educational Institutes, Sriman M.V.V.S. Murty, MLA Sriman Kalaa Venkata Rao and former Visakha Mayor Smt. Rajana Ramani while Basavapunnayya chaired the session.

Later, Vennello Agni a novel in Telugu written by Koganti Vijayalakshmi was also released on the occasion by the Sadguru.

Recital

Captivating recital of light music by Aruna, cine play back singers G. Anand, Meher Mohan Das, B.A. Narayana besides Peter Mastaaru, Gopalakrishna, Bata Ramarao, Nageswara Rao, Jagan, B.L. Narayana, Lalitha, Sailaja and many more of the like marked the evening.

Members of Roshanlal Orchestra lent excellent support.
