RGV renames his ‘Sholay’
Ram Gopal Varma has given in to pressure, at least to rename his film. After a lawsuit filed by G.P. Sippyu’s grandson protesting against Ramu’s use of the name Sholay in his title Ramu ki Sholay, Ramu
has decided to do away with the word Sholay.
His remake of the yesteryear hit will now be called Ramu ki Aag. Since the Sippy’s argued that they hold the copyright towards using the character names Gabbar Singh and Basanti, the new Gabbar Singh will be called Ajgar and B
asanti will become Ghungroo.
Hum Saath Saath Hain!
Producer Sanjay Gupta has named the sequel of Kaante as Saath. The title stands for togetherness and Gupta’s lucky number – 7. The sequel will not feature Amitabh Bachchan and it will be interesting to
see how the other actors, most of who get killed in Kaante, reappear in Saath. While Kaante was a remake of Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs, Gupta claims Saath will have an original story and screenplay.
