Big-time bashing up

The film is directed by veteran director D. Rajendra Babu. The film also marks the return of South Indian film industry’s top fight choreographer Vijayan, who is coming back to the Kannada film industry after a long gap. Hansika is being introduced in the Kannada film industry for the first time.

Puneet was happy Vijayan would be doing the fight compositions for the film. Vijayan entered the film industry as a junior fighter, but his rise to the top position was quick. He has been the fight composer for superstars like Rajnikanth and Chiranjeevi.

Turning point

The success of Mungaaru Maley has influenced many film directors to go very soft on their titles. Films like “Ee Bandhana”, “Gaali Pata”, “Januma Janumadalloo”, “Ninade Nenapu”, and “Hani Hani” are a few examples to show there has been a paradigm shift to softer titles for films. Another film with a soft title is “Manjina Hani” produced by Sandesh Nagaraj, while music and direction is by Crazy Star Ravichandran. The film is being shot in Sakleshpur and its peripheral coffee and forest plantation area. Ravichandran is directing this film and also providing music composition for this film. Poonam Kaur, the Andhra beauty is the heroine of this film. In a recent interaction with media persons, Ravichandran felt “Manjina Hani” would prove to be a turning point in his career. “It will achieve a greater degree of success than my previous hit “Malla”. I am telling this with greater confidence as I am completely happy about the quality of the script and the locations I have chosen to shoot for the film,” says Ravichandran.

Chasing hot babes

The Kannada film producers are now running to Mumbai not in search of a glam dolls, but for item girls. The trend started by director Prem is fast catching up in the Kannada films. Bollywood’s famous item girl Yaana Gupta was featured in the hit song “Bin Laadennu Nam Maava” of the film Jogi. And then Prem took another big step forward by asking Mallika to do an item number in his film “Preethi Eke Bhoomi Melidhe” which was shot for almost eight days in Bangalore. Rumours are that Mallika was paid a whopping Rs. 70 lakhs for working in this item number. Now, Bollywood’s glamorous item girls Mumaith Khan and Rakhi Sawant have also danced in Kannada films “Orata I Love You” and “Geleya” respectively.
