Gifted artist

The article, ‘For me, every set is a challenge’ (Friday Review, July 20) was interesting.

A true artist considers each work assigned to him as a new one and works on it enthusiastically to complete it.

There is no room for complacency, even slightly, in such a gifted artist. In this way, it is natural for the famous set designer Thota Tharani when he says, “For me, every set is a challenge, a creation of art and is dear to me. And geometric patterns fascinate me.”

It is nice to hear that Padmasri awardee Tharani considers “Anjali,” “Nayakan,” “Satya,” “12-B” and “Sivaji — The Boss” some of his best. Many more are sure to come from this dedicated ‘Tharani Pugazh’ art director.

K.Vasu,
Chennai.
