Richly deserved tribute
We are extremely happy about your article on our former president and writer Ibrahim Sayeed in the Friday Review, dated June 1, 2007. He has relentless worked towards bridging gaps between people of various religions and communities. His work is also
highly regarded in the literary field.
He was a writer, translator and critic. The article in The Hindu clearly brings out the late leader’s multifaceted personality. We are thankful to you for your coverage about him. Members and office bearers of the Jamaat ̵

We look forward to continued support from your paper for the work of Jamaat-E-Islami Hind. Syed Tanveer Ahmed and

Tracing tradition
We are happy to see a very beautiful article in The Hindu about Bidar’s poetical tradition in Friday Review on July 20, 2007.
We are extremely grateful to you for highlighting the achievements of various poets of Bidar, most of whom had been unknown to today’s younger generation.
We are specially thankful to you for writing about Hazrat Ishqui Bidri, who, many feel, has not got the due credit he deserves.
The article brings out the beauty of Hazrat Ishqui Bidri’s Naat style poem, “Ya Shafi Ul Warah….”
In our opinion, The Hindu is the only English newspaper to write about Hazrat Ishqui Bidri’s connections between Mecca and Madina.
