Awards for musicians

The Indian Fine Arts Society, Chennai, is celebrating the 75th South Indian Music Conference and festival at the Balamandir German Hall, T. Nagar, from December 15, 2007 to January 4, 2008. The festival gets special significance as this is their platinum jubilee year. Flute exponent N. Ramani will preside over the festival and conference and will be awarded the title, ‘Sangeetha Kalasikhamani’ on the inaugural day.

At the valedictory function organised on January 4, 2008, Bharatanatyam exponent Srekala Bharat will be conferred the title, ‘Natya Kalasikhamani’.

Narada Gana Sabha will confer the title, ‘Nadhabrahmam’ on P.S.Narayanaswamy and the Senior Musician Award on Manakkal Rangarajan during the December music festival.
