Sri Rama Kala Vedike and Canara Bank are presenting “Sangeeta Sudhe”, an evening of classical instrumental music. It will feature a tabla sola by Aditya Kalyanpur, a sitar and sarod jugalbandi by Prabir Bhattacharya and Subhabrata Chatter
jee on August 18 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, 6 p.m.
Aditya Kalyanpur, disciple of the late Ustad Allarakha and Ustad Zakir Hussain, has been conferred the title of “Taal Mani”. He is currently visiting faculty at the Raganjali School of Music, Boston.
IN THE FOOTSTEPS Students of legendary musicians will perform
Prabir Bhattacharya, disciple of Pandit Deepak Choudhury has received the Nirod Baran Smriti Puroskar, Sangeetha Ratna Award among others. Subhabrata Chatterjee has been trained under the guidance of Dilip Patra, Pandit Kamal Mallick, Debashis Bhattacharjea and Deepak Chowdhury.
This concert, promises to bring us alive, the memories of the performances of legendary Pandit Ravishankar and Ustad Allarakha.
