TOTO FUNDS THE ARTS (TFA) announces the fourth in its series of annual awards for young musicians and bands. For the first time, TFA has tied up with Counter Culture Records to offer talented musicians a new deal. TFA invites entries for the music aw
ard from all genres of contemporary music from rock, jazz, heavy metal, trance, house, instrumental, and folk.
The award is open to all musicians, bands or individuals, under the age of 30. Entries are invited in all languages. All submissions must be original and must reach Toto Funds the Arts or Counter Culture Records by October 15. Past judges include Luke Kenny (VJ, Programming Head Channel V), Vishal Dadlani (Pentagram, Vishal-Shekhar), Jitin Abraham (Programming Head Vh1) and Arjun Sankalia (Sony BMG).
The winners were such up-and-coming bands as Myndsnare (2005), Demonic Resurrection (2006) and Lounge Piranha (2007).
Counter Culture Records (CCR) is an independent music label dedicated to providing a platform for talented artists and bands to release their music, enabling them to reach wider audiences. TOTO FUNDS THE ARTS (TFA) also invites entries for its third annual awards for young Indian writers in English. Two cash awards of Rs. 25,000 each will be given in January 2008.
