Music fete



Experienced hand: Thiruvananthapuram R. Mahadevan.

Violinist Thiruvananthapuram R. Mahadevan will conduct a music fete called ‘Devidasa festival’ on September 10 at Theerthapada Mandapam in Thiruvananthapuram. The concerts will be from 4 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. ‘Devidasa’ is the sig nature of the violinist. The vocalists would be rendering Mahadevan’s compositions.

The inaugural concert by Ommanakutty will be followed by that of Bhavana Radhakarishnan. The finale will be a vocal recital by Parvathypuram Padmanabha Iyer and R. Mahadevan.

A student of maestro L. Subramaniam, Mahadevan has accompanied many of the leading Carnatic musicians. A B-high graded artiste of All India Radio and Doordarshan, he has composed varnas, keerthanas, Thillana and bhajans in different languages.
