Young talent Presenting a dance ballet.
As its first anniversary treat, the newly underway sabha Sirimuvva Nritya Niketan of Vijayawada presented an elaborate programme of which the main attraction was the dance drama Vishnu Sahasra Nama Vaibhavam.
The programme was held at Gokaraju Laila Gangaraju Kala Vedika in the premises of G.V. R. Government College of Music and Dance. The cast of nearly 30 played their roles perfectly and there was not a dull moment during the entire dance drama.
The script was written by Vidushi T.K.Choodamani, a profound scholar in Sanskrit and Telugu. N.Usha Madhavi, founder secretary of Nritya Niketan also donned the role of Sutradhara. The melodious music was composed by N. Butchiahcarya.
The episodes that figure in the dance drama were Bheeshmacharya preaching the Vishnu Sahasra Namam while lying on the bed of arrows during the Kurukshetram and Lord Bramha praising Vishnu’s Dasavataras.
The programme, delayed by nearly by one and a half hours tested the patience of the crowd but the frustrating wait was amply compensated by the well knit and executed show. Good script, fine music and involved performances of the dancers.
Fine performances came from Y. Anuradha, M. Himaja, J. Priyanka, K. Srividya, C. Siri, D. Sowmya Manogna, S. Trinath and others.
Veteran dancer Ajay Kumar rendered the nattuvangam and lilting vocal support came from N. Kowsik Kalyan and T. K. Sisters Saroja and Sujata.
