Native tongue Appalla Someswara Sarma releasing the book translated by Vedula Subrahmanya Sastry.

As a mark of gratitude and love for his father and guru late Krishnamurty Pantulu, Acharya Sarvabhauma Vedula Subrahmanya Sastry (former professor and head of the department, Telugu, AU) translated Adbhutha Ramayanam from Sanskrit into Telugu. The book was released by his teacher and Sanskrit scholar Appala Someswara Sarma (former Professor and head of the department of Sanskrit, AU) at Sankara Matham on Krishnaashtami, which happened to be the 100th birthday of late Krishnamurty Pantulu.

G. Akkubhatla Sarma (head of the department of Sanskrit, AU) presided over the function.

Noted writer and critic Dr. D.V. Surya Rao, analysing the contents with deep discernment , established how the original in Sanskrit happens to be the sum and substance of a discursive discussion between the author of the Grandha, Valmiki and St. Bharadwaja. The style of presentation and the characterisation prove that this author Valmiki is not the same Valmiki who scripted Ramayana originally, Surya Rao emphasised.

Pointing out the occurrences of slokas from Bhagavad Gita, christening of the chapters as Sargas, the assuming of Kali form by Sita including some statements which reflect the quintessence of the attributes of revelation of Devi in Soundaryalahari etc., he established its origin to a much later period to Mahabharatham first, Kumarasambhavam next and finally Soundaryalahari. The explanation was methodically done as in a dissertation.
