Enriching experience

A.R.S.

Discerning discourses gave the right ambience.

A nine-day fete starting on the Vinayaka Chavithi day was held at Sri Sampath Vinayagar Temple in Asilmetta area in Visakhapatnam turned out to be a novel affair in its entirety.

The darshan and rituals like prabhata seva with nadaswaram music, homam, abhishekam and alankaararchana, followed by Vedaparayana inviolably marked the fore and afternoon sessions on all days. Discerning discourses on Ananda Ramayanam by Adhvaita Siddhiratnakara Sriman Maddulapalli Dattatreya Sastry of A.U. Department of Telugu , Bhagavatam by Pranava Peethadhipati and Sahasravadhani Sriman Vaddiparty Padmakar of Eluru , and Veda Sabha with renowned Vedic scholars lent an air of sort of serene sanctity which pervaded the ambience.

Maddulapalli’s exposition of Ganapathitatwam with abundant excerpts from Ganesakanda of Brahmavaivartana Puranam constituted an absorbing prelude to his scholarly discourse on Ananda Ramayanam. He brought home the point how Devi Parvathi, austerely performing Punyakavratha, begot Gokulakrishna reincarnated as her son Ganapathi. He later explained how Ananda Ramayanam, a part and parcel of the Valmiki Ramayana constituted nine ‘kandas’ made of 12,252 slokas distributed into 109 ‘sargas’. Analysing the quintessence of each of the nine ‘kandas’ (Sara, Yatra, Yaga, Vilasa, Janma, Vivaha, Rajya, Manohara and Purna), he elucidated the reason for these being hailed as revelation of the ultimate Brahman.
