When they met…

One television promo that’s catching attention despite other biggies like Om Shanti Om and Saawariya is that of Jab We Met. This Imtiaz Ali film has Kareena and Shahid coming together for the fourth time, after Fida, 36 China Town and Chup Chup Ke. In Jab We Met, watch Kareena act the part of a Punjabi girl from Bhatinda.


Major portions of the film were shot in Nabha, Punjab, and as part of her homework for the role, Kareena had to brush up on Punjabi lingo to main the authenticity while mouthing a few Punjabi dialogues.

Dil Dosti to the ‘70s


Ever since he debuted in Nagesh Kukunoor’s Iqbal, Shreyas Talpade has been making strides in the industry. He’s won appreciation for his performance in Aggar recently and now has Dil Dosti Etc releasing this week. He will also be seen as Shah Rukh Khan’s buddy from the ‘70s in Om Shanti Om, i.e., before SRK’s reincarnation! Like others, Shreyas too had to struggle against being typecast into certain films, especially sports movies after Iqbal.

‘Dreamy girl’ arrives


For all of you hooked to Aankhon Mein Teri… number from Om Shanti Om, here’s something about Deepika Padukone. We know that she’s essaying the part of a quintessential heroine from the ‘70s in the film. But did you know that she’s called ‘dreamy girl’ in the film? Well, Farah Khan has modelled her character after ‘dream girl’ Hemamalini and feels Deepika resembles the veteran actress from the South.

Anurag Kashyap is set to impress with his unconventional film, No Smoking. John Abraham is the protagonist who finds it tough to kick the butt and the film revolves around how he finally manages to steer clear of smoking.

Ayesha Takia plays the female lead but there’s Bipasha Basu, as well, in a guest appearance. Basu appears just for a song and was game to do so, all for John Abraham. The film, produced by Vishal Bharadwaj and Kumar Mangat, will release in October.
