Music fest

Shanthi Arts Foundation and Endowments, Alwarpet (Ph: 2467 2539) will be conducting its October Music Fest series, ‘Stars of tomorrow: Series three’ dedicated to S. Kalyanaraman. Concerts begin October 6, 4.30 p.m. daily and will be on till October 15. Sastri Hall will be the venue.

Felicitation

The centenary celebration of Raghavachariar Swami, observance of the Sanskrit day, and felicitation to the recipient of the President’s Award, August 2007, Perukkaranai Chakkaravarthiachariar Swami and Navalpakkam Varadachariar Swami will be on Sept. 30, 2 p.m. at Sri Ahobila Math Oriental Higher Secondary School, West Mambalam. N.S.Ramanuja Tatachariar Swami, founder and vice-chancellor, Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetam, Tirupati, will preside. N. Murali, Managing Director, The Hindu, and president, the Music Academy, will inaugurate and felicitate the awardees.

Silver jubilee

Sri Bhuvaneswari Baktha Mandali, Adambakkam (Ph: 2253 2323) is celebrating its silver jubilee on October 1 and 2, with special Sri Suktha Mangala homam and other special pujas on the first day. Nithyashree Mahadevan will give a vocal recital at 7 p.m. On Tuesday, Omkarananda Swami will give a discourse.

Navaratri

K.K.Nagar Aasthika Samaj is celebrating Sri Sarada Navaratri from October 10-21 at Saranam Hall, Sri Ayyappan temple, Sath Sangam Ponnambalam Salai. The festival will be inaugurated at 6.15 p.m. by R.K.Bharathan, president, Sri Sastha Sangam.
