Satirical slice Showing today
Song and dance Folk form meets satire.
Combining an English script with Indian folk elements can have surprising consequences. One of them being laughter. Butter and Mashed Banana does just that as an esoteric narrative mode kicks in to tell a tale of a boy who becomes
a famous writer but faces rabid opposition to anything he tries to say or do. Interspersed dramatically with music and movement delivered in the style of an informal skit it shows three actors caught up in a frenzy of activity.
According to the people behind the play, Harami Theatre was founded to produce Butter and Mashed Banana and the idea is to be able to do theatre, not as a political exercise, but just for the love of it. The play has been staged at festivals and venues across the country to applause.
If you haven’t picked up the tickets till now, they would be available at Ravindra Bharati .
A limited number of tickets in the Rs. 100, Rs. 200 and Rs. 300 denomination would be available at the venue.
