Cassette release

The Sangeethadhama Music Academy, J.P. Nagar, in association with Oriental Bank, celebrated its fourth anniversary recently.

The Academy released a music cassette and C.D. “Raaga-Rangu” — a collection of poems by well-known poet Prof. Doddarange Gowda by singer C. Ashwath. “We are seeing a change in the music arena today. Good quality cassettes which contain good lyrics are becoming less. The main reason for this is lack of good lyricists,” said Ashwath.

This was followed by flautist Pandit Venkatesh Godkindi being honoured with “Sangeetha Kala Kaushtubha” Award.

Lahari company is marketing “Raaga-Rangu”, which has eight melodious songs.

Yashavant Halabandi, Shamitha Malnad, Jyothi Raviprakash, Mrityunjaya Doddavada, Pravin Godkindi and Supriya Acharya, including the famous singer C. Ashwath have lent their voices to these poems.
