Discourse The ten-day programme was a treat to devotees.

Thought-provoking talks Shanmukha Sarma.

The ten-day spiritual discourse organised by Rishi Peetham-Sanatana Dharma Vedika at Sri Sivarlamakrishna Kshetram was a treat to the crowds that thronged the temple complex every day. Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma, the 40-year-old erudite scholar and fo under publisher of the magazine Rishi Peetham gave the discourse on Siva Karnamritam. Siva Karnamritam was one of the 104 great works of Appayya Deekshitulu.

Through his famous work Appayya Deekshitulu coordinated the essence of Advaitha, Vishshtadvaita, Sivadvaita and Dvaita Sidhantas to the acceptance of both Saivites and Vishnavites.

With a missionary zeal, Shanmukha Sarma has been trying to spread among people moral and ethical values based on our glorious cultural heritage.

He has a rich voice, unfaltering flow of words with which he mesmerises the masses.

Words come out of him like a torrent. Undoubtedly, Sarma is phenomenon.

The ten-day discourse of Shanmukha Sarma came to a close with a brilliant commentary on Kamalamba Navavarana Keertanas, the great group compositions of Sri Syama Sastri, one of the trinity of Carnatic music. Sarma’s superb and detailed discourse on the keertanas was amply complimented by the rendition of the keertanas by the senior Malladi brothers Suribabu and Narayana Murthy.

The last day’s programme came as a fitting finale to the ten-day treat.

Malladis had good support from Ampolu Muralikrishna on violin and M.L.N. Raju on the mridangam. The mega programme was competently organised by Dhulipala Ramakrishna.
