Preity with Rocky

NEW FILM Preity stars with debutante Rocky

In her determination to do women-oriented roles, Priety Zinta is now headlining Deepa Mehta’s upcoming Heaven on Earth. The latest scoop is that a good-looking Punjabi guy named Rocky will be the lucky debutant opposite the dimpled Zinta.

Apparently, Rocky is a graduate from the department of Indian Theatre, Punjab University, Chandigarh, and has done a lot of plays with Neelam Mann Singh, a well-known theatre personality in Punjab and a close friend of Deepa Mehta. According to the grapevine, it was Neelam who suggested Rocky’s name to Deepa.

Mehta evidently was incredibly impressed by Rocky’s acting skills and without much ado signed him for the role.

The film is to be shot exclusively in Canada and the crew has begun packing their bags for a November schedule. We wish the newcomer all the best!
