Nee Sukhame Ne Koruthunna. Raja, Sneha play the lead supported by newcomers Chakravarthy and Hemasri and a host of other actors. He is shooting at Pramada Hospitals, Kavuri Hills in Madhapur in Hyderabad.
Most of the actors featured in the movie are present – Raja, Chakravarthy, Brahmanandam, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Uthej, L.B. Sriram, Hemasri, Annapurna, Sakhi are some among them. As they emote some anxious moments the cinematographer Suresh captures their expressions. As one takes a few steps forward towards the actors without cutting into the field area, one can find the cause for their concern, the heroine Sneha! All eyes are focused on her. While one wonder what’s happening director Giribabu orders for a ’cut’ and a satisfactory smile crosses his face.
"This is the climax sequence," reveals Giribabu during the break. "A certain point is revealed through the heroine’s character in this crucial scene. It is like any other campus love stories, the boy and the girl meet, they fall in love, sing duets, misunderstandings do occur and finally they unite," he laughs. But turns serious and continues, "It is a beautiful love story. As I said the central knot for any love story may be the same but it is the screenplay and the narrative that makes all the difference. How my hero and heroine fall in love with each other, how at one stage they misread each other’s mind, how they over come it all these are narrated in a new pattern. The college love story is packaged with a family drama supported by liberal dose of humour." It is after 17 years he is donning the mantle of a filmmaker again. The last film he had directed was Indrajith (1990) featuring his son Bose Babu in the lead.
"The first schedule was held at my native place Ravinoothala near Ongole. We shot two songs and talkie portions and returned to Hyderabad to shoot the remaining portions plus three songs. Of course in between a duet on Raja and Sneha was canned in scenic locations in Bangkok. The music (composed by Madhavapeddi Suresh) is mostly melody oriented and has a mixture of melody and Rap in a couple of songs. We have to keep in mind the young audiences too," he smiled.
The actors assemble. Before moving to them, as a parting shot the affable actor-producer-director said, "As an actor, I have been continuously working with various young directors all these years and it was easy for me to absorb the changing trends and techniques in filmmaking so I feel as if I have directed a film only the other day. And I am making it in my style without a trace of vulgarity and for the whole family to watch and enjoy the fragrance of love." He leaves you with a hearty laugh.
