Tiruchi Ramesh

The Rasika Ranjana Sabha, Tiruchi, celebrated its Founder’s Day recently with a vocal concert by Tiruchi K. Ramesh.

Tiruchi Ramesh commenced the concert with Dikshithar’s ‘Vathapi Ganapathim’ in the raga Hamsadhwani followed by ‘Varanaradha’ of Tyagaraja in the raga Vijayasri.

Neat rendition

In the brisk rendition of ‘Inthaparaka’ the swaraprasthara was very neat. ‘Sri Mathrubhootham’ in praise of the presiding deity of the Rockfort temple in the raga Kanada was very touching.

‘Ka Va Va’ of Papanasam Sivan in the raga Varali, ‘Sevikka Vendumaiya’ in Andolika of Muthuthandavar were the other enchanting pieces. ‘Ealarasri Krishna’ in Khambodi with short rendition of raga was filled with melody.

The main rendition in the raga Sriranjani, ‘Brochevarevere’ and Tiruchi Barathan’s ‘Thensuvaye’ in Atana, were well received.

Ayimurali (sloga) followed by ‘Syapasyath Kowsalya’ in Jonpuri of Thiruppayanam Panchapakesa Sastri were delightful.

Tiruchi Ramesh concluded the concert with Dhanasri thillana.

T. H. Vasantha on violin, Konerirajapuram Varadharajan on mridangam and Anthanallur Ranganathan on gatam gave their valuable and adequate support.
