Modumudi Sudhakar

Living upto his reputation as a neat singer with deep musical sense, Modumudi Sudhakar, a staffer of Vijayawada Akashvani gave an impressive concert. The concert was the last item of the variety programme organised by Vijayawada Music Academy at Sri Sivaramakrishna Kshetram. Putta Jaganmohan Rao, chief patron of the Academy was the chief guest and Putta Rajakumari inaugurated the programme. In the inaugural meeting Putta Jaganmohan Rao and M. Krishnakumari were the chief guests. Veteran mridanga vidwan Mahadevu Lakshminarayana Raju was honoured by his disciples and admirers.

After a brief dance programme presented by Anusha Naidu, M. Santa Nair and D. Mounika, the delayed and much awaited concert of Sudhakar started with the instrumental support coming from P. Nandakumar (violin), M.L.N. Raju (mridangam), M. Haribabu (ghatam) and H. Raghu (morsing). The concert got off to a good start with the popular Navaragamalika varnam followed by Sobhillu Saptaswara in Jaganmohini. Sudhakar regaled the audience with fine kalpanaswaras brimmed with precise mathematical calculations. After singing Mokshamu galada in Saramati Sudhakar took up Pantuvarali for the main item of the concert. The closing item was Gandhamu Pooyaruga and Utsava Sampradaya keertana of Thyagaraja in Punnagavarali.
