Integrated Academy for Performing Arts and Sri Krishna Gana Sabha honoured eminent bhagavathars at their eighth Namasankeertan Festival, on Sunday last. N. Gopalswamy, director, Dalmia Cements (Bharat) Ltd, conferred the title ‘Sankeertana Kal
anidhi’ on octogenarian harmonium vidwan, Venkatesa Iyengar, in the presence of Kothandarama Swamigal of Marudanallur Sathguru Math. Also Bhagavatha Seva Trust recognised the services of 25 bhagavathars. Babaji Raja Bansle Chatrapathi, Senior Prince of Thanjavur, presided. The fest was celebrated from Nov.23- Dec.6. Bhagavathars from across the country rendered bhajans on all the days. A wide variety of sampradaya bhajans was rendered.
